My family has been breeding and raising horses for over 100 years. I was fortunate to have grown up in the rural Midwest with the opportunity to ride and drive my entire life. Although I had extensive horse knowledge by the time I met my first Morgan, I knew immediately that I had never encountered anything like them before! Many different breeds spend time at North Star during breeding/foaling season, but for me personally, nothing quite compares to the intelligence, versatility and candor of a Morgan! A breed that will forever stand above and beyond with me. They are my passion, my business and are truly part of our family. 2007 marked the opening of our full service breeding facility. The response has been overwhelming and the success rates are running in the high 80%'s. Breeding manager, Dan Drewlow, has proven to be every bit as knowledgeable and talented as his reputation predicted. He is an invaluable part of the farm. We begin Morgan foaling in March and are expecting 2008 foals by Hylee's Galaxy Seven, Aljak's Double Whammy, Century Nightmusic as well as Politically Incorrect. The class of 2006 and 2007 will be a hard act to follow as they took two of the top 5 spots in the NCMA weanling futurity, as well as, took top honors in the yearling division with NSS Lucado (And The Beat Goes On x Romanza by Beethoven) winning the breeders sweepstakes. We look forward to another successful season for 2008. Tammy |
