Now ANY stallion owner can offer Cooled Shipped Semen to their clients! We allow our clients to expand their services to meet their customers' growing demand for cooled shipped semen and quality mare care.

We offer the Stallion & Mare Owner many services including:

  • Stallion & Mare Management
  • Shipped Semen - Collection / Evaluation 
  • Training a Stallion to a Collection Phantom. 

 Our facility offers Stallion owners the ability to collect and ship cooled semen shipments in a timely fashion from their stallions to mares, Nationwide. We schedule the day-to-day requests for semen & the paperwork of the mares being bred to the stallions in our care.

All collections are done by utilization of a phantom. 

We have programs in place for:

  • Off-Site Stallion Management with "Drive-Up" Collection Option
  • Phantom Training 
  • Shipping of Cooled Semen
  • Mare & Foal Management
  • Frozen Semen

Our facility is comprised of a staff of the most experienced horsemen and veterinarians. We offer research and problem solving for those hard-to-breed/collect horses and our state-of-the art equipment and laboratory help any breeder become more successful.

Mare Management

Personal care and conditioning is paramount for the mare to help maximize her fertility, attitude and health. Mares managed at North Star Stables enjoy group or individual daily monitored turnout, a secure indoor stall along with grooming and care. North Star Stables will also contact, schedule and file all required paperwork involved in breeding the mare. The stallion, collection and shipping fees are the responsibility of the mare owner.

 Reproduction Evaluation

 Veterinary evaluation of the mare's reproductive system to discover possible areas that may need specialized care and to help maximize her fertility. This evaluation may include:

  • Breeding Conformation
  • Blood Tests with Thyroid Function
  • Uterine Culture and Cytology
  • Uterine Biopsy

 Artificial Insemination, Embryo Transfer & Mare/Foal Care Available 

 Artificial Insemination of your mare is performed at our facility using the stallion of your choice. The Mare's Cycles and levels are monitored and then she is inseminated at her most fertile period. All Stallion Collection, handling and shipping fees are the responsibility of the Mare owner. At 17 days the mare is ultrasounded to determine if she is pregnant.

Thru Embryo Transfer your mare is bred to the stallion of your choice thru the use of Artificial Insemination. After 7 days the embryo is flushed from your mare and implanted into a recipient host mare for the host mare to carry the fetus to term. 

Foaling services and after foaling care of the mare and foal is available. A 24 hour monitoring system allow the assistants to be near at all times.
